Use Goodest and you are agreeing to this. It is between you and The Standard Reasoning Company.

Your account

You can use the app without handing over an email address or a phone number. Tapping "Add your dog" makes an account with no identity on it.

That account lives on the phone that made it. Delete the app or lose the phone and it is gone, because we have nothing to recognise you by. Adding an email address or a phone number is what makes it recoverable.

What happens under your account is yours. You have to be old enough to agree to a contract where you live, and at least 13.

Your footage stays yours

Every video, photograph and recording you make with the app belongs to you, and we claim none of it.

You give us permission to host, store, process and change what you send, so the app can make renders from it and get better at reading dogs. That permission is worldwide and costs nothing, and it exists so the thing works.

Delete something, or delete your account, and the permission ends. We stop using it, and nothing you have deleted trains anything afterwards. Copies can sit in ordinary backups for a short while before they age out, and anything already published stays published, because what has learned from a recording cannot unlearn it. It holds no copy of your footage.

You are confirming you had the right to record whatever you recorded, anybody who appears or is heard in it included.

What this is not

Goodest is not a training authority and not a veterinary service. It reads short clips on its own and it gets things wrong. A badge records what the app decided. It is not a certification of your dog's behaviour or temperament, and it should not be relied on for anything that matters: a landlord, an insurer, or anybody deciding whether your dog is safe around a person or another animal.

Nothing in here is veterinary or behavioural advice. If your dog needs help, ask a vet or a trainer.

Using it reasonably

Do not record people who have not agreed to it. Do not upload anything illegal or abusive. Do not record animals being harmed or provoked. Do not break into other people's accounts or attack the service.

We can suspend or remove an account that does any of that.

Renders

The app draws your dog using a third-party image model. The picture is yours, to do whatever you want with. It is generated, so it will sometimes be wrong about your dog, and no two runs give the same picture.

Availability

The app is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be up, that it will always be right, or that footage will never be lost. Keep your own copy of anything you would be upset to lose.

Ending it

Delete your account any time from inside the app, under Settings. It happens immediately and it cannot be undone. "Your footage stays yours" says what that removes and the two things that outlive it.

We can end your access if you break this.

Changes

If this page changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before it takes effect.
